PHYSICAL THERAPY
Our neurologic and orthopedic specialists work side-by-side, designing one unified plan that treats the entire person — not just one diagnosis at a time.
Integrated Care
Life doesn’t separate back pain from a stroke or Parkinson’s from shoulder pain — and neither do we. At Empower Balance, our orthopedic and neurologic physical therapists work side by side, blending expertise to treat the full picture.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing a neurologic disorder, or navigating both, we offer:
Experienced PTs with advanced orthopedic and neurologic training
PWR! Therapy — a high‑energy, Parkinson’s‑specific training approach built on powerful, athletic movement patterns that sharpen agility, improve balance and elevate real‑world performance
High‑performance neuro training systems featuring safety‑harness setups for confident intensity, body‑weight–supported treadmill work for speed and gait mechanics, progressive resistance training, and technology that builds real‑world reaction time, cognitive challenge, and dual‑tasking capacity.
Advanced modalities including dry needling, compression therapy and BFR training to accelerate healing
A collaborative approach that adapts to real-life complexity
With our comprehensive clinical expertise and cutting-edge tools, we've got everything you need to get back on your feet—stronger, steadier, and more confident.

“Through hard work, patience and her incredible knowledge of neurorehabilitation, she has guided my husband to the most remarkable progress. We are now seeing a path to walking again, something we were losing confidence would be possible just a few months ago.

Life Changing Results
“I can't say enough good things about Empower Balance and the owner, Lindsey. I've been to many PTs before finding Lindsey and this was BY FAR the best experience I've had. She knows how to think outside the box and really does her research to help with uncommon disorders.”
-Karen
"I’ve been to many good PTs through the years for different injuries and surgeries but my experience at Empower clearly stands out as the best.”

A hairdresser with my arms in the air all day, I always had lots of neck and shoulder pain! Lindsay and Nate are amazing! The stretches and the needling has helped me so much! I have way more movement in my neck with much less pain. Thank you Nate and Lindsay!

Payment Information
-
Payment is due at the time of service. We accept cash, check, credit card, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and gift cards.
Our Cash‑Based Model
Empower Balance Therapy & Wellness is an out‑of‑network, cash‑based practice. This model lets us prioritize one‑on‑one care and clinical decisions that serve your goals rather than insurer rules.
Insurance and Superbills
For physical therapy, we will provide a detailed superbill on request so you can submit it to your insurer for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee reimbursement from your insurance company; reimbursement decisions and amounts are determined by your insurer.
Specialty Exercise Programs
Programs such as Anti‑Freeze Bootcamp, Jumpstart, and Neuro Performance are cash‑pay and are not covered by insurance. Empower often receives grants that allow us to offer partial participation scholarships; we’ll share scholarship availability when you sign up.
Medicare Beneficiaries
If you have Medicare, you may participate in services Medicare does not cover (for example, Anti‑Freeze Bootcamp, Jumpstart, and Neuro Performance). We cannot provide Medicare‑covered physical therapy services, even if you prefer to pay cash. (It’s not a rule we like, but we have to follow it.) If you require physical therapy and have Medicare, we’re happy to provide a list of trusted Medicare providers upon request.

FAQs

In a nutshell, physical therapy gets you back on your feet. Wellness programs keep them running.
Physical therapy is best when you need the skilled assessment and treatment of a physical therapist to problem solve and restore function.
Examples include:
Dizziness
Fall risk assessment and treatment
Orthotic and assistive device prescription
Modalities to reduce pain and optimize movement such as manual therapy, dry needling, electrical stimulation or blood flow restriction
Injury or surgical recovery programs
Wellness programs (Jumpstart, Anti-Freeze Bootcamp, Neuro Performance) are best for those who want to improve their overall health and fitness. Think goals such as improving strength, stamina, speed, flexibility and balance.
Empower’s wellness programs are designed to build resiliency and prevent future problems so that you can spend less time in physical therapy fixing problems and more time feeling your best.
For People with Medicare:
Unfortunately, Medicare beneficiaries are legally required to use Medicare benefits for their physical therapy and cannot choose to pay cash instead.
Medicare beneficiaries can receive services that Medicare does not cover, including wellness (Jumpstart, Anti-Freeze Bootcamp, Neuro Performance)
If you have Medicare and require physical therapy, we will gladly recommend alternative providers.

Wait times vary from days to months and are impacted by the needs of our current clients, and your scheduling flexibility.
All Physical Therapy clients and current wellness clients have priority scheduling.
Physical therapy treatment plans are individualized and vary depending on each client’s unique needs and medical condition. Wellness clients are offered the opportunity to renew halfway through their scheduled programs.
Once a client chooses not to renew their program, we then offer appointments to the next person on the wait list.
When you are next on the waitlist, we will reach out to you by both text and email with options to schedule your first appointment.
If we do not hear back from you within one week, we move on to the next person on the wait list.
We promise, physical therapy at Empower is worth the wait! Don’t take our word for it. See what our clients have to say.

Empower is not in-network with any insurance companies.
How Payment Works:
You directly pay Empower a flat, per visit rate.
Upon request, Empower will provide you with a superbill (detailed receipt) that you may submit to your insurance company for out-of-network services.
If covered, your insurance company will reimburse you directly.

The short answer: RESULTS.
The long answer: We want to provide a much needed alternative when the standard, insurance model of health care isn’t enough.
Cash‑pay PT appeals to people who want better access, better outcomes, and better control over their care. Instead of being limited by insurance rules, visit caps, or rushed appointments, patients get a model built entirely around what actually helps them improve.
Freedom From Insurance Restrictions
Insurance often dictates how long sessions can be, what treatments are “allowed,” and when care must stop. Cash‑pay PT removes those barriers so treatment can follow clinical need, not insurance policy.
• No visit limits
• No denials for “not medically necessary”
• No delays waiting for authorization
No getting discharged because of arbitrary “plateaus” or meeting low level goals
Longer, One‑on‑One Sessions
At Empower Balance, you’ll get an hour of uninterrupted PT, allowing deeper assessment, more hands‑on work, and faster progress. Patients aren’t sharing their therapist with three other people at the same time.
🎯 Faster, More Personalized Results
Without insurance constraints, therapists can use the full range of evidence‑based tools—manual therapy, dry needling, compression therapy, BFR, neuro‑specific training, and more. Care becomes customized, not standardized.
🧠 Whole‑Person Care
Cash‑pay PT supports complex, real‑life situations—like orthopedic pain layered on top of neurologic conditions—because treatment isn’t forced into narrow diagnostic boxes. Patients get integrated care that reflects how the body actually works.
💵 Transparent, Predictable Costs
No surprise bills. No confusing EOBs. Patients know exactly what they’re paying for and can plan accordingly. Many also use HSA/FSA funds or submit superbills for potential out of network reimbursement.
